(Los Angeles-SNS) Ayuda al Niño Inc., a nonprofit organization located in Riverside, California has announced a donation of vitamins and food supplements for needy children in Bolivia with a value of $68,000. The donation was given through Mannarelief, (http://www.mannarelief.org). These supplements will provide each child with a personalized combination of patented nutrients drawn from botanical vitamins and minerals. All these products are natural-not pharmaceutical drugs-and have a proven track record for increasing the quality of life for children with a wide variety of ailments from malnutrition to terminal illness. "Medical research," says Mannarelief, "has repeatedly shown that good nutrition is the key to healthy development of a child."
According to Teresa Jackson, president of Ayuda, the Bolivian children who will receive the benefits are those who are malnourished, have pulmonary illness or suffer from cerebral palsy.Jackson, together with other members of Ayuda will fly to Bolivia with 12 suitcases full of supplements for the children on December 2, 2004. They will depart on AmericanAirlines to personally deliver the goods to needy children.Ayuda President Jackson said that the children who participate in the program will have a follow-up of three months and at the end of that period there will be an evaluation to see how the progress is going.
Helping Ayuda in Bolivia will be the Governor's office (Prefectura) of Santa Cruz along with Social Service Director Mimi Gasser and her Assistant Cindy Alarcon.
"A lot of hard work is finally paying off," said Mrs. Jackson who along with her husband Richard Jackson II will be on hand in Santa Cruz, Bolivia for the delivery.
"We pray a lot and God is listening to our prayers," added Mrs. Jackson. "We have found somebody who can help and listen at the same time."
At the present time it is estimated that 387 children are expected to benefit from this program. The plan in the near future is to include other children from Latin America.
